Yarmouth Colts - Tucker's Team
Hello Colts family, neighbors and friends!
Over 11 years, as a community and soccer club, Yarmouth families have been supporting Maine Children's Cancer Program Walk. It all started when our beloved Tucker Olmstead was diagnosed with lymphoma. I was Tucker's snowboard coach at Carrabassett Valley Academy weekend program. I didn't know anything about his Yarmouth life. I moved here in 2003 and eventually became a Colts board member and was given the opportunity to direct this special event, not knowing that it all started because our amazing community wanted to do something in Tucker's memory. I am honored to be sending you this letter....
So thank you for visiting my personal fundraising page for the 2017 Maine Children’s Cancer Program WALK! This year's MCCP WALK will be on Saturday, September 16th at the back cove path.
Thousands of people will be joining to walk in solidarity to show support and raise funds and awareness for kids battling cancer and blood disorders in the state of Maine. I am thrilled to be a part of such a worthy and sentimentle cause and am determined to support their efforts in making a difference in the lives of so many local children and their families. All while remebering and honoring Tucker and his friends who fought the fight and those who continue to fight.
Each dollar raised stays here in Maine and goes towards state-of-the-art equipment, psychosocial services for the patient and their family, and research to help find a cure for childhood cancer. With the support of people like you, we can make a huge difference in the lives of local children battling this disease.
Please consider making a donation to support the Colts participation and advance the Maine Children’s Cancer Program’s mission: to keep cancer from getting in the way of kids being kids!
On behalf of everyone affected by childhood cancer, THANK YOU!
